Don’t get me wrong, j’aime beaucoup Duolingo, I’ve been using it daily without fail for quite a while now to keep the French language part of my brain in daily use in my otherwise English language dominated world. But I’ve come to notice some rather bizarre sentences for translation.
Of course, every learner to a foreign language needs to quickly learn this…wouldn’t want to miss an opportunity now would we…
But while you are at it you better know how to ask and interpret the answer to this question…
And if you’re lucky she might even let you do this…
And then lone behold, before you know it…
Naturally, what use is a foreign language if you can’t abuse people with it?! Well fortunately Duolingo has you covered there too…
…and it’s only too happy to confirm if you are stupid.
and this one is just bad in any language…
Duolingo does however support gay rights though…
Duolingo got this one right too…
Only to then remind me of this harsh reality…
But fortunately they help you protest such a reality…
You never know when this one is going to come in handy…
I don’t really understand their rationale behind teaching this sentence…
And lastly, Duolingo doesn’t stand for poor English anymore than it stands for poor French…
