July 2023 kennyardouin.com update: What’s new?

Kia ora, and welcome to the refreshed kennyardouin.com website. It’s been six years since the last overhaul, and some things may look a little different – but don’t worry, you should still be able to find everything you’re looking for – and hopefully it should now be quicker and easier to find what you’re after.

What’s improved?

  • The website is focussed around my cleft work, projects, and research. Site data from more recent years shows that most people coming to the website are doing so to find out about something related to cleft – so I’ve made this the predominant focus of the website and made things easier to find. You’ll now find all the latest posts on the home page so that you can see at a glance what’s changed since your last visit – this can be accessed anytime by clicking on ‘Latest Posts’ in the menu bar. Don’t worry, the old homepage has been retained, given a spruce up, and is now the ‘About Me’ page. You’ll also now find links to my presentations, publications, and resources and media, in the menu bar, rather than being hidden in sub-menus.
  • Better integration of external services – e.g. Eventbrite. You’ll now be able to make bookings for events without leaving kennyardouin.com, allowing for a more seamless experience.
  • Navigation within larger sections – I’ve given a lot of presentations and produced a reasonable amount of papers over the years – this was making these sections of the site harder to navigate and a lot of scrolling – now it is organised by collapsible sections to make it much easier to find what you’re after.
  • New ‘Radio Interview Selection’ section – these are interviews that I have hosted rather than ones I’ve appeared in (those can be found under ‘Resources and Media’). Most people are looking for specific interviews rather than whole radio episodes, and a selection of these are now offered under this section. You will also find these on your favourite podcast player (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Fountain etc.) by searching ‘Interviewed by Kenny Ardouin’.

What’s disappeared?

  • The Radio section, including the podcast library of full episodes of Wireless Watchdog, Christchurch Now, and Be Safe, Be Kind, Unite Against COVID-19. Unfortunately, increased costs of web server hosting mean that it is costly to keep large numbers of old radio episodes online. These programmes ran between 2015-2020 and were all current events focussed programmes. Over time, unless an episode was of particular significance, they don’t tend to get many new listens on an ongoing basis. Additionally, as there were so many of them, it was harder to navigate and find what you were looking for. Therefore, I have taken the decision to remove these, and instead offer a selection of the most interesting and continually relevant interviews available on the site and through the podcast feed. However, if there is an episode you’re particularly interested in and can’t find it here, do get in touch and I can upload it for you!

Happy Browsing!
