Introducing Consultancy and Guest Speaker Services

Over the course of my career, I have been privileged to support numerous individuals, organisations, research projects, and events by providing insights, guidance, and presentations on topics related to cleft and craniofacial journeys and care, lived experience representation, and supporting the inclusion of patient and family perspectives in clinics, communities, and health policy around the world. These experiences have been incredibly rewarding, and have allowed me to refine my ability to deliver value in a way that is practical, engaging, and impactful.

There has however been inconsistency across organisations and countries on whether to pay for my expertise or not. My general tendency to say yes to all such unpaid opportunities is sadly not sustainable, and furthermore creates inequities when there are similarly resourced organisations, universities and governments where some choose to pay for my services and others do not. Therefore, to ensure I offer consultancy and guest speaker services sustainably and equitably, I am pleased to be formally launching my paid consultancy and guest speaking/guest lecturing services which are available around the world.

Formally transitioning to a paid model reflects both the demand for my services and the depth of experience I now offer. I have invested significant time and energy into developing a body of knowledge and a style of consultancy and delivery that resonates with many audiences around the world. This step allows me to dedicate more attention and resources to each engagement, ensuring that every organisation, project, and event receives tailored support that meets their unique needs and objectives.

Examples of my services include one-on-one consultancy, review of research grants, ethics applications, review and development of public-facing materials such as information sheets and lay summaries, focus group participation, and guest speaking at conferences, workshops, university lectures, and other professional gatherings. When you work with me, I bring my experience, passion and dedication to your project, training programme or event. I am available to provide both in-person, and remote consultancy and guest presentations throughout the world.

I fully appreciate that I work with some organisations which cannot afford to pay for consultancy, and I intend to keep doing so. If your organisation cannot afford to pay for Consultancy and/or Guest Lecturing services, I do donate a proportion of my time every year to doing pro-bono (free/voluntary) work. I reserve my unpaid capacity primarily for projects that genuinely wouldn’t be able to do the work if they needed to pay collaborators. You can read more about this here.

I look forward to partnering with those who wish to engage my expertise in a formal capacity. If you are interested in finding out more, booking consultancy, supervision, or a speaking engagement, please visit my consultancy page at www.kennyardouin.com/consultancy.
