Results Released: BeCause Competition

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all those who recently voted for me in the BeCause film competition on www.because.org.nz – the support for my cause at Cleft New Zealand was truly overwhelming and it is really heartwarming to know that so many people are as passionate about the cause as I am.

Thanks to all those who voted for me, I came third on the public vote with over 650 votes throughout the competition period. However, unfortunately my cause was not selected as one of the six stories chosen to be produced in a film. I appreciate that there was some very strong competition and worthy causes and wish to extend my congratulations to those individuals who will have their stories showcased in film to gain further traction for their cause. Naturally, this will not put a dampener on my complete commitment to ensuring that awareness of Cleft Lip and Palate and the support that is available to those affected by the world’s most common facial birth ‘defect’ is raised both here in New Zealand and around the world.
